As far as the specs go, the new X79A-GD45 (8D) is pretty much identical to the X79A-GD45 except for the obvious addition of four more DIMM slots. It feature Military Class III components like DrMOS II, Hi-C CAPs, Solid CAPs, Supper Ferrite Chokes, feature eight DDR3-2400 memory slots, has three PCI-Express x16 3.0, two PCI-Express 2.0 x16 and one PCI-Express x1 slot, two SATA 6.0Gbps and four USB 3.0 ports (two via header).

The rest of the features include Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1-channel audio, bunch of USB 2.0 ports, MSI's UEFI Click BIOS II and OC Genie.

As always, MSI didn't shed any light regarding the launch date or the actual price of the new motherboard, but you can expect it to sell for a bit above €200.
