Lego to continue Star Wars licensing

Written by David Stellmack

Extension for 10 more years in Lego

The Lego Group has reached an agreement with Lucasfilm to renew and extend their licensing deal, which has seen just about everything from the Star Wars universe be immortalized in Lego. The deal will grant the Lego Group 10 more years of Star War- themed Lego fun.

The deal covers both bricks and video games, so TT Games is likely to continue producing Lego Star Wars titles. On the brick side, Lego has been working on a number of new Star Wars: Old Republic and Clone Wars offerings that we should expect in the near future.

As a point of trivia, Lego has apparently sold more 30 million units in the Star Wars series since the Lego Group launched its Star Wars offerings back in 2005. (That is a lot of Lego!)
