Affordable 7-incher with ICS

Samsung has unveiled its latest addition to the tablet lineup, the Galaxy Tab 2. The new Galaxy Tab 2 will also be most affordable tablet that bears the Samsung logo and will feature a 7-inch screen paired up with Android 4.0 ICS OS.

As far as the specs go, the new Galaxy Tab 2 is pretty much identical to the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, which means that you are looking at the 7-inch WSVGA 1024x600 PLS LCD screen, 8GB, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage with a microSD slot, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS, and even HSPA+ on the 3G version. It also features a 3MP main camera with LED flash (flash lacking on Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus), front VGA video-call camera and a 4000mAh battery.

The differences include a thicker 10.5mm case and the, so far, unknown 1GHz dual-core CPU paired up with 1GB of RAM. The good part of the story is that it will feature Android 4.0 ICS right out of the box.

Unfortunately, the price still remains a mistery but Samsung announced that the new Galaxy Tab 2 will hit the UK first, in March.
