Written by Slobodan Simic

Intel Haswell and better battery

During its annual WWDC developer's conference Apple has announced the refreshed Macbook Air that will be again be available in 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch versions and feature Intel's latest 4th generation Core Haswell CPUs.

According to Intel, the Haswell line of Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs will actually offer much better battery life that goes up to nine hours for the 11.6-inch and up to twelve hours on the bigger 13.3-inch Macbook Air. This is quite a result considering that previous generation was rated at five for the 11.6-inch and seven for the 13.3-inch one.

In addition to the Haswell Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs and Intel HD 5000 graphics that comes with it and promises up to 40 percent faster graphics, the new Macbook Air line will also feature the new 802.11ac WiFi. Both models also now feature SSD as standar4d storage option and will be available in 128 and 256GB versions.

Both models will be available immediately from Apple's store with a price starting at US $999 for the 128GB and US $1199 for the 256GB 11.6-inch model and US $1099 for the 128GB and US $1299 for the 256GB 13-inch model.

You can find them both here.
